With the convenience of a direct international flight of less than 3 hours to multiple U.S. cities, more and more tourists are heading to Roatan for a tropical escape. In this article, we’ll cover information all about Sandy Bay Roatan, one of the most popular neighborhoods on the island.
Sandy Bay Roatan
Sandy Bay encompasses a very large area of Roatan’s northern shore between Coxen Hole and West End. While many neighborhoods fill this area – including Lawson Rock, Mangrove Bight, Gibson Bight, Anthony’s Key area, La Colonia, and more – all of this area is included within Sandy Bay.
The actual stretch of beach of Sandy Bay is also utilized as a road, so it’s not quite the same beach as West Bay Beach or Paya Bay, for example. The beach area is still beautiful and vibrant, with many small hotels and B&Bs dotted along the way. Dive shops, restaurants, and ample vacation rentals also line this beach area, offering you plenty of options for a fun Roatan vacation in Sandy Bay!
